Dr. Bruce Levinson is an optometrist with advanced training and extensive experience in
the diagnosis, treatment, and management of eye disorders. He places professional
emphasis on therapeutic contact lenses, sports vision, children's vision, and post
operative co-surgical care of myopia reduction (nearsighted reduction) and cataract patients.
Dr. Levinson received his bachelors degree at Buffalo in 1988, where he graduated first
in his major, forensic chemistry. He studied the optometry at the
New England College of Optometry in Boston, graduating at the top of his class
which he led as president.
After training at the Dimock Health Center in Atlanta, and the Augsberg Army Hospital in
Germany, Dr. Levinson completed extra training with Donald Korb, one of the most prominent
contact lens practitioners in the country. He also worked at Cornea Associates in Boston.
This was one of the test sites for refractive laser surgery (nearsighted surgery).
Dr. Levinson is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. This is an organization
of members who have completed written and oral exams and defended cases in the field of
optometry. He also served as president of The Central New York Optometric Society.
Moreover, he has published articles in various professional journals lectured to many
groups in the central New York area. Dr. Levinson and his wife Darlene, a pediatric
occupational therapist, live in Cazenovia. He grew up in Fayetteville, and his
wife is a native of Maine.
