Providing Blade-free LASIK to Upstate New York

Many LASIK practices offer only traditional LASIK, in which a blade called a microkeratome is used to create a flap in the cornea so that the surgeon can access and shape the tissue underneath. At Syracuse Ophthalmologic Consultants, however, we proudly offer advanced blade-free LASIK, in which every stage of the procedure, including the creation of the corneal flap, is performed with a laser. With blade-free LASIK, incisions can be made with greater precision, thereby substantially reducing the risk of flap complications. Premium Custom Cataract Surgery in Central New York

As we age, vision becomes blurry due to cataracts. A cataract is the clouding of the natural lens of the eye over time. In addition to standard cataract surgery, we offer custom cataract surgery with premium, high technology implant lenses. Replacing the cataract with a premium implant allows our patients to see distance, intermediate, and near all without glasses. This youthful restoration of vision allows the majority of our premium lens patients to rid themselves of bifocals and reading glasses. These lenses are superior in performance compared to standard cataract surgery implants.

We also perform post-LASIK cataract surgery on patients who have developed cataracts after their vision correction procedure. By combining our expertise in LASIK and cataract surgery with state-of-the-art technology, we are able to replace the cloudy lens and restore the health of the eye without affecting the results of the previous LASIK procedure.
